DOMAINE SAINT JEAN DE L'ARBOUSIER

  Domaine Saint Jean de l?Arbousier is situated around twenty kilometres to the north-east of Montpellier above the village of Castries. Because of its geographical location, between vineyards, sea and mountains, the views are exceptional. The estate is a once belonged to the Templars, and its oldest buildings date from 1235. The Viguier family acquired the property in 1945. Since then four generations of wine-growers and oenologists have followed each other in handing down genuine skills and promoting a unique heritage.Thanks to its 40 hectares classified as AOC and its 11 grape varieties, production is very diverse: three wine colours (red, rosé and white), sparkling wines (white and rosé), and of course grape juice.The estate is also involved in civic and ecological activities - from April 2010 onwards, production changed from sustainable to organic, not out of economic necessity but out of conviction. This demonstrates a real determination to go back to traditional values.
