  Le Château du Grand Caumont is one of the leading wine estates of Corbières. With its 100 ha located in the heart of Corbières on the site of an ancient Roman villa "La Villa Manzanetto", it has been in the Rigal family since 1906, the date at which Louis Rigal, founder of the renowned "Société des Roqueforts Rigal" bought it and then handed it down to his son Louis. At the end of the eighties, Françoise Rigal, his wife, carried out major changes in quality, from the vineyards to the wine cellar.She pulled up many plots, planted new grape stocks and kept the best grapevines of Carignan which today constitute a beautiful capital of old grapevines.Currently it is Laurence Rigal, her daughter, who passionately makes fruity, spicy, full-bodied and silky wines, a whole range of pleasurable PDO Corbières red, white and rosé wines, PGI Pays d? Oc wines and Aude reds. The estate is located on the ?terroir? of Lézignan Corbières, in the countryside facing the scrublands scented with thyme and rosemary, on the D261 road between the villages of Luc sur Orbieu and Ferrals Les Corbières.We will welcome you with great pleasure for a tour of the 15th century Tower, renovated in the course of time, of the Noria, an ancient well built in the 11th century, of the wine cellar and its barrel cellar or simply in the wine vault for wine-tasting with commentary of our vintages. We also offer to have you live with us at the Estate renting our apartment and its Mediterranean garden and sharing with us our swimming pool surrounded by pine trees in the park.
