Camping Sous Roche

  At the heart of Burgundy, in the Natural Park du Morvan, Avallon is built on a granite spur, overlooking the valley of the Cousin from its terraced gardens. The Clock Tower (fifteenth century) opens the doors of the historic heart of the city, with its half-timbered houses, towers and its bastions. The Saint-Lazare church shows the architecture of the twelfth century, with its two Romanesque portals and twisted columns. Picturesque belt of the town, the valley of the Cousin and his multitude of trails clinging to the slope of the valley, offer infinity of points of view on the Morvan. This valley, with its mills, was also the industrial and commercial heart of Avallon until the early twentieth century.
