MUSEE DESNOYER

  A collection of 700 works left by the painter François Desnoyer to the Municipality of Saint-Cyprien in 1972.This collection gathers together beautiful paintings by the painter himself as well as a very fine personal collection of works by painters of the 19th and 20th centuries, illustrated by the Ecole de Barbizon, Eugène Boudin, Maurice Utrillo, Modigliani, Albert Marquet...The collections have been enriched with acquisitions of ethnic arts from the continents of Africa, Asia and South America. A journey into the heart of ancient civilisations, a passage through netsukes, horsemen of the Far East, carpets from Central Asia, African madonnas and masks and pre-Columbian vases and other objects.
