Description

description in French  Created around 1560 by Hélie de FRATEAU, a local lord, le Moulin de la Veyssière has kept its authenticity through the years. This is the last water powered mill of the Vern Valley. We are specialized in artisanal manufacturing of walnut, hazelnut and almond oil. Belonging to the ELIAS family since 1857, our mill was used successively for the making of flour, bread and walnut, hazelnut and oil. The mill opens its doors to you all year long and without appointment. We offer a 45 mintues guided tour that will make you discover the beauty of old stone and our local gastronomy. Mill open for visits Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 12.20pm and from 2pm to 6pm and Saturday from 2pm to 6pm, closed on Sundays. In July and August the mill is open for visits Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm and Saturday from 9.30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm, closed on Sundays. Free visit, tasting offered.
