Description

description in French  Located in Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg since 9 generations, Domaine de Nerleux is a family wine estate in the Loire Valley. Nerleux means "black wolves" in old french, because there were wolves before wines long time ago.
Amélie NEAU succeed to her father in 2011, and manage this wine estate of 30ha. The women winegrower improves practises, mixing modernity and tradition, that comes from her heritage.
So, she follows the footsteps of her father's work : going to more respectful practises for the environment and since 2019, the domaine is in conversion to organic farming.
Freshness is ont of the main quality of our wines. It comes from combination of Cabernet Franc and Chenin with the local stone that is in our soils : tuffeau. Used to build Loire Valley's castles, this clay and limestone stone can keep water to restitute to the vines at the best moment.
During the wine-making process, quality and requirement are keywords of Amelie. Engaged and passionate, she is more than that during vinifications that is very important. Indeed, this is her sensibility that count in this important period of the year, bringing feminity in Nerleux's wines.
Sharing is an important Amelie's value, so it is a reason why she develops wine tourism upon her arrival.
