Location
Description
The Domaine de Beaubassin is in the highlands of Saint-Denis, more specifically in Saint-François and it’s possible to take a 1.5hr guided tour of the grounds.
Tour of the estate, the Créole garden, the fully-furnished lounge and dining room. The house was built in 1860 in a neo-classical style.
In the French-style gardens, you’ll see the Bourbon rose bushes, azaleas, camellias and a pond from the original design.
The Domaine was originally the first colonial garden in Reunion Island.
The tour is led by the current owner of the estate.
