CHATEAU PEZILLA

  The Château de Pézilla bears witness to the character of dwellings of the "Belle Epoque" (the 1930s) and the golden age of wine in Roussillon. Today it houses the Hôtel de Ville (town hall). From the heart of the village it still majestically watches over the vineyards belonging to the wine growers of Pézilla. These people, from generation to generation, pass on the nobility of their craft and their passion for one of the most remarkable wine growing areas in Roussillon. The vineyard is planted on slopes and terraces made up of schist deposits and pebbles that have been washed onto the northern banks of the river Têt. It has the benefit of ideal climate conditions for growing vines and its character is reflected in the fine palette of wines on offer in the Château Pézilla shop, situated alongside the Town Hall. Since 2008, Pézilla?s wines have been processed by the Arnaud de Villeneuve cellar, which combines the skills of local wine-growers with modern equipment and technical expertise.
