Réserve naturelle de Moëze-Oléron - LPO

  Moëze-Oléron Nature Reserve covers a wide space between the island of Oléron and the mainland. On the mainland, former salt ponds are now surrounded by salt marshes and wet grasslands; on sea, mudflats rich in invertebrates are used by shorebirds at low tide. By virtue of these high quality feeding areas, the Nature Reserve is home to thousands wintering and migratory birds. Outdoor activities are centralised on the mainland: guided tour of the reserve are available on reservation, free trails, observatories and observation points.
