Description
Marcevol Priory: the flawlessness of Romanesque art. Founded in the 12th Century by the Canons of Saint-Sépulcre (the monastic order linked to the conquest of sacred places), the priory stands out due to its pink marble front wall topped by a curious bell-gable. The southern apsidiole houses a 12th Century fresco, representing Christ Pantocrator surrounded by angels. Marcevol priory benefits from an exceptional setting facing Mont Canigou.
