Location
Description
Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Genis des Fontaines. The Lintel of the Church (11th and 12th Centuries) is the first Romanesque sculpture bearing a date (1019-1020). Remarkable by its simplicity and the polychromy of its marble, the cloister dates back to the late Romanesque era (13th Century). Ever since its creation, up until its restauration in 1994, it has sustained the effects of history (French Revolution, Treaty of the Pyrenees, etc.).
