MUSEE REGIONAL D'ART CONTEMPORAIN OCCITANIE/PYRENEES MEDITERRANE

  The Mrac presents permanent
and temporary exhibitions in
a 3,200 m2 former wine cellar,
just a few kilometres from
the sea. The immersion into
the world of contemporary art
is immediate from the forecourt
with the remarkable installation
on the façade by the artist
Bruno Peinado, Daniel Buren’s
work on all the glassed surfaces
and the ceramic fresco by
the Icelandic artist Erró.
The Mrac collection comprises works by artists
from the 1970s until today. Since 2016, these have
been complemented by an outstanding loan from
the Fonds national d’art contemporain. As a result
of this loan, the Mrac is now part of a prestigious
list of French museums such as the Centre
Pompidou in Paris, the Capc in Bordeaux as well
as the museums of Saint-Étienne and Grenoble.
Three times years, the Mrac offers visitors new
solo and group exhibitions along with a diverse
programme of conferences, concerts and debates.
