VILLA ARNAGA - Musée Edmond Rostand

  In the South of Bayonne, Cambo-les-Bains welcomed illustrious characters, of whom the author of Cyrano de Bergerac. Edmond Rostand built here the house of his dreams, a villa inspired by the firm Basque in white facade and red timber framings. He treated the inside with it as a luxurious stage set. Today Museum of France, you find an original collection of objects and works of art there evoking the famous writer and his family.Around the house, Edmond Rostand also created gardens on more than 15 ha. At sunrise, he implants a formal garden endowed with ponds, with ornamental ponds and with a pergola. At sunset, he conceives a landscape garden allying greenery and mineral curves. The Gardens of Arnaga, certified Remarkable Garden, complete this site fascinating, as its temporary exhibitions, his drama festival, its concerts and other animations.
