  It was in the 19th century, at St Laurent de Cerdans, that the formidable history of the espadrille was born, the history of an ancestral craft that became a flourishing industry and enabled the whole valley to make a living for nearly a hundred years. Today, we make Catalan espadrilles, the ?Vigatanes? (pronounced ?bigatanes?). We have installed our workshop in an old espadrilles factory that we renovated and upgraded.We work mainly with the harmonious and trendy colours of the ?Toiles du Soleil? handwoven canvas, which brings a touch of modernity to our creations while preserving the ancestral manufacturing process.The boutique adjoining our workshop allows visitors to watch the manufacturing process in real time.In addition, we organize guided tours in order to enable the greatest number to discover our know-how.
