Musée du Hieron

  Located at 250 meters from the basilica, the amazing Hieron museum shelters a jewellery masterpiece: the monumental Via Vitae (Path of Life) created by Joseph Chaumet (1904).
It houses a wide range of collections such as the Romanesque portal of Anzy-le-Duc (12th century), a remarkable collection of Italian paintings from the17th to the 18th centuries, and a collection of contemporary art from the 20th and 21st centuries.
Thanks to its unique architecture, the Hieron Museum is one of the few french buildings which was designed as a museum since its inception in the late 19th century.
Nowadays, this building is listed as a “Musée de France” (Museum of France).
Moreover its awesome frame made of metal, wood and glass is inspired by Gustave Eiffel.
