  Pays de Sommières is well situated between the mediterranean sea and the Cévennes.The medieval city of Sommières, with its inhabited roman bridge, the castle, the ancient quarries in the little village of Junas, the old wind mills in Calvisson and other charming villages are very attractive features.Several beaches along the Vidourle allows people to swim. Other activities around water are also practiced as canoe. From Sommières to Caveirac, in the outskirts of Nîmes, the green trail allows outdoor excursions in pleasant and safe conditions.
