Musée Bernard d'Agesci

  The Bernard d'Agesci Museum displays several key treasures of a cultural heritage, collected intelligently in only one place, a former girls' secondary school inaugurated in 1897.This multidisciplinary museum reveals exceptional collections of fine art: 600 paintings ranging from the 16th to the 20th century, sculptures from the 19th and 20th centuries, a remarkable ensemble of drawings, collections of decorative artwork (enamels, ivories , gold dishes, ceramics, fabrics, furniture), ethnographic collections, pieces of music essentially by the violin maker Auguste Tolbecque, militaria, numismatic, lapidary, natural history including regional ornithology and geology collections, a sizeable osteology section, an education academy ( school furniture and memorabilia, scientific apparatus, maps, school films and projects, all retracing a century and a half of instruction).All of these sections of art and science invite the visitor to discover regional history rubbing shoulders with faraway cultures.
